From Monday 7th January we will see a new page when we log in to the Ovid databases. It’s called OvidSP and is designed to provide a natural language or “Google-style” search.
The Basic search (which is the default) will behave much like Pubmed or Google and interpret your search terms or phrase for you. If you would prefer to use Ovid subject headings, as you’ve been able to do in the past, choose the “Advanced Search” tab above the search box.
OvidSP has all the functionality of the old Ovid but includes many other enhancements, so if you have any queries or would like an introduction to the new interface please contact the Library on
